Driven by past failures, Nightwing must find resolve in order to establish himself as the protector that the city of Bludhaven desperately needs. Can the first Robin conquer the League of Shadow zealots without the help of his former mentor?

SYNOPSIS:

When TALIA AL GHUL threatens to break the pledge of keeping the identity of her son’s father a mystery—RA’S AL GHUL is forced to intervene. He develops a plan to kill ROBIN by teaming up with one of Gotham’s notorious criminals. In Ra’s mind, this ensures that his grandson—DAMIAN—will never meet his father. Ra’s plan is ultimately successful but he did not account for there being two Robins.

Two years later, the Robin who lived is establishing himself as the protector of a new city. NIGHTWING thrives at neutralizing street level criminal activity with help from his eye in the sky—ORACLE. When Nightwing receives an anonymous tip about a weapons deal occurring at an abandoned construction site, he sets out on his latest venture. This mission ends up being a set up with the League of Shadows.

A trip back to Gotham is in store as many questions and uncertainties arise from Nightwing’s encounter with the League. His hope to reconnect with BATMAN for the first time in two years is delayed due to the hero’s consequential obligations to the Justice League. ALFRED steps in to mentor the distraught Nightwing and gives him the courage he needs to wrestle his past mistakes.

Talia’s intricate plan entraps Nightwing yet again leading to a battle with a team of ASSASSINS and a familiar foe. The RED X and Nightwing collide in an epic duel that ends with an unmasking. JASON TODD is unveiled under the Red X suit—alive but brutally scarred. It is later revealed that Talia harnessed the power of one of the few remaining Lazarus pits—which explains Jason’s loyalty to her.

Talia deciphers the ancient League of Shadows prophecy and enlists Nightwing to help her cause or risk an underground takeover of Bludhaven. Nightwing is reluctant to trust her but finds himself defending the city with his estranged brother—Jason—by his side. DEATHSTROKE and his army charge forward with help from Bludhaven’s corrupt mayor. The stakes continue to rise as Nightwing is forced to make a sacrificial move in order to ensure the safety and future security of his city.
