In a house full of children searching for belonging, one boy discovers that words can create magic — and the wrong ones can tear a family apart.
SYNOPSIS:
In the foggy coastal town of Pinesville, Maine, fourteen-year-old Nathan Walker lives at Eleanor’s House, a warm but chaotic foster home filled with children searching for belonging. Quiet and observant, Nathan longs for a permanent family, even as Miss Eleanor does everything she can to make every child under her roof feel loved.
One night, Nathan discovers a mysterious set of wooden blocks hidden in the attic. When he realizes the blocks can bring words to life, the children are swept into a world of wonder, creating impossible creatures, magical surprises, and moments of joy that make the house feel more alive than ever.
But as the children uncover the blocks’ hidden past, they begin to realize the magic is tied to loneliness, grief, and the emotions of whoever uses them. When Miss Eleanor’s charming boyfriend Greg enters their lives and old fears begin to surface, the fragile sense of family inside the house is tested.
As the magic grows stronger and more unpredictable, Nathan and the other children must face what they truly want, what they fear losing, and what it really means to belong.
