After moving to a small Appalachian town, a lonely fifteen-year-old artist, discovers that the mythical creatures he has drawn his whole life are real—and when an ancient Fae begins erasing them from existence, he must return to a hidden realm beneath an abandoned train station before everything forgotten disappears forever.
SYNOPSIS:
Fifteen-year-old Noah Calloway has always felt more at home in his sketchbook than in his own family. After moving from Oregon to Bellwick, West Virginia, Noah struggles to connect with his emotionally distant father, Grant, and his mother, Mara, whose drinking has left her drifting further away from the son who still needs her.
In Bellwick, Noah befriends Emmy Morrow and Preston Blackwell, two local teens who live near his new home. For the first time since the move, Noah feels like he may finally belong. But when a harmless dare leads him inside the abandoned Bellflower Station, Noah discovers a hidden doorway beneath the platform—one that opens into The Fold, a strange realm where the real world and the mythical world are folded together.
Inside The Fold, Noah comes face-to-face with the creatures he has been drawing for years: griffins, mermaids, centaurs, phoenixes, goblins, dragons, sirens, and a mysterious changeling girl named Vienna. But The Fold is not only magical. It is wounded. Its creatures are fading, its stories are vanishing, and an ancient Fae named Elias Wren is trying to erase them from memory forever.
As Noah begins to uncover the truth behind Bellflower Station and the children who have disappeared there for generations, his parents are forced to confront the pain and silence that pushed him away long before he ever stepped through the door. With Emmy and Preston caught between guilt, fear, and loyalty, Noah must decide whether to stay safe in the real world or return to the one place where his drawings, his pain, and his courage may be the only things powerful enough to save what everyone else has forgotten.
