SYNOPSIS:

On the eve of her 18th birthday, 17-year-old Ada learns the truth: her family’s wealth comes from a blood pact her ancestors made with the river spirit Mami Wata. Every generation, one daughter must be sacrificed when the 18th tide rises, or the spirit will take the whole village. With 3 days left, Ada must choose: die like her mother did, or find a way to break a curse that has drowned her family for 200 years. But the river always collects its due, and it knows her name.
