THE STATION

THE STATION
By Nick Nelsen

GENRE: Thriller / Suspense, Horror
LOGLINE:

After a public trial leaves him cleared but hollow, Evan returns to a remote mountain weather station for a monthlong rotation meant to rebuild routine and silence grief. Instead, the station begins producing impossible data, altered records, and visions that force Evan to question his memory, his sanity, and the night his wife was killed. As reality fractures between hallucination and manipulation, Evan realizes the station may not be malfunctioning at all.

SYNOPSIS:

Following the brutal murder of his wife, disgraced meteorologist Evan Kessler returns to the isolated mountain weather station where his alibi cleared him of the crime. Hoping the solitude will help him rebuild his life after a nationally publicized trial, Evan instead finds himself trapped in a waking nightmare.

Strange weather anomalies begin appearing in the station’s systems. Phantom storm signatures flicker across radar scans, emergency alerts trigger without cause, and handwritten notes appear where none should exist. As the nights grow longer, Evan experiences disturbing hallucinations that blur the line between memory and reality, hearing his dead wife’s voice over the radio, seeing impossible visions of the courtroom that exonerated him, and witnessing figures lurking inside the station’s shadows.

His only lifeline is Grace, a neighboring station operator who tries to ground him as his mental state deteriorates. But when surveillance feeds begin watching him from hidden cameras and Evan discovers evidence that someone may be drugging him through the station’s new coffee maker, paranoia turns into obsession. The deeper he digs, the more he begins to suspect that the official story surrounding the murders may have been manipulated from the start. Cut off from the outside world by violent weather and mounting psychological pressure, Evan is forced to confront a terrifying possibility: either he is losing his grip on reality, or someone has carefully engineered his isolation to make sure the truth never surfaces.

As the station itself seems to turn against him, Evan must uncover what really happened the night his wife died before the same forces driving him toward madness finish the job.
