THE HOUSE THAT LISTENS
By Markice Moore

GENRE: Thriller / Suspense, Science Fiction, Horror
LOGLINE:

A mother accepts a reduced-rent smart-home pilot to protect her family, only to learn the house records fear, custody pressure, and private conflict faster than anyone inside can escape it.

SYNOPSIS:

Malika Ross is overworked, underpaid, and fighting for stability when a flyer offers the impossible: a clean smart-home pilot, reduced rent, good school zone, bus line, and family safety features. It looks like a trap with granite counters, but everything affordable feels like a trap when rent and custody pressure are already closing in. Her child's father, Darius Vale, wants the lease in his hand, and his concern comes wrapped in control.

The house starts as a solution and becomes a witness. Its safety features listen too well, answer private fears out loud, and turn domestic stress into data. Darius understands control. Malika understands survival. Their child is caught between adults, sensors, locks, alerts, and a system that says protection while learning how to trap the people it studies. The House That Listens is a smart-home contained thriller about technology, domestic power, and the horror of a place that knows your secrets before you can name them.
