SUNDOWN
By Markice Moore

GENRE: Drama, Romance, Biopic / True Story
LOGLINE:

When maintenance man Jay Washington survives a massive heart attack and loses twenty-four years of memory, his newlywed wife LaShawna must learn how to love a stranger wearing her husband's face.

SYNOPSIS:

Jay Washington is the steady man everyone in Lincoln Heights calls when something breaks. He fixes radiators, checks on neighbors, carries the quiet pride of a husband, father, and working man, and has just married LaShawna after a long life already shared. Then a massive heart attack takes more than his health. Jay wakes as a twenty-four-year-old inside a forty-eight-year-old body, missing decades of marriage, children, work, grief, and love.

LaShawna is left with the cruelest kind of miracle: the man she loves is alive, but the shared life that made him her husband is gone from his mind. Their children Jasmine and Jay Jr. have to grieve a father who is standing in the room. The neighborhood becomes both witness and memory bank, while doctors, support groups, family, and old photographs force LaShawna to face what cannot be restored. Sundown is a true-love drama about memory loss, caregiving, dignity, and the courage to love someone new when that someone is the person you already married.
