SHELTER IN PLACE
By Markice Moore

GENRE: Thriller / Suspense, Horror, Drama
LOGLINE:

During an emergency order at a Bahía Dorada oceanfront hotel, American travelers discover shelter may be the trap, and leaving could make them proof of what happened inside.

SYNOPSIS:

Bahía Dorada is supposed to be a business-trip backdrop: golden water, tourists, vendors closing up, and a hotel lobby engineered for calm. Then a distant boom changes the air. Locals move faster than tourists understand. A helicopter circles. Inside the oceanfront hotel, Jack Rivers, Matt Klein, and Devon Price check in with the habits of men trained by logistics, emergency medicine, compliance, and bad neighborhoods.

The order to shelter in place turns the hotel into a pressure chamber. Guests want information. Staff protect routines. Outside danger is unclear, but inside, every locked door, camera, hallway, and official instruction begins to feel less like safety and more like containment. The men have to read who is managing panic, who is hiding policy behind hospitality, and who benefits if no one leaves with a clean version of the truth. Shelter in Place is a contained travel thriller about crisis protocol, foreign vulnerability, and the terrifying moment when compliance stops protecting people and starts preserving the cover story.
