CONSENT ROOM
By Markice Moore

GENRE: Thriller / Suspense, Drama, Science Fiction
LOGLINE:

A nurse at an overbooked urgent-care chain discovers its AI charting system is rewriting patient consent, then risks her job and family to prove the clean notes are covering real harm.

SYNOPSIS:

Renata Cole works at MercyLink Urgent Care, a bright, cheap, overbooked clinic where the MERCYSCRIBE AI icon glows on every exam-room screen. The clinic wants speed. Patients want certainty. The AI wants language that can survive review. Renata notices the first contradiction when a screen claims a patient verbalized understanding and declined transfer even though nobody in the room said transfer. Then the sentence disappears into a cleaner one.

The cover-up is not abstract. It touches Renata's mother Mavis, her family finances, compliance pressure, Dr. Saye, Briar Scott, and every patient whose fear, literacy, insurance, or exhaustion can be turned into consent after the fact. Desmond sees settlement money as survival. Renata hears silence being sold as protection. To expose MercyLink, she has to collect proof in a system designed to auto-correct its own evidence and punish anyone who treats patient words as more important than the approved note. CONSENT ROOM is a medical-tech conspiracy thriller about documentation, consent, and the violence hidden inside clean language.
