SHADOW OF THE SUN

SHADOW OF THE SUN
By Sudenur Sen

GENRE: Fantasy, Animation
LOGLINE:

On a divided planet scorched by the sun and corrupted by darkness; Aurca, born with crimson hair in stark contrast to the sacred white-haired nobles and kept hidden for years, is forced to emerge from the shadows when the new king murders his mother. Discovering that his own blood is the only shield against the deadly sun, he embarks on a relentless journey into the heart of the light to overthrow the rotted kingdom and find the lost goddess.

SYNOPSIS:

In a world caught between the incinerating heat of the sun and the soul-rotting cold of the dark, touching a single ray of sunlight means instant death.

Within the dark kingdom of Tenebris—where white-haired nobles rule with divine fire and the masses are imprisoned in shadows just to stay alive—the birth of a crimson-haired babe named Aurca is hailed as a catastrophic curse. Spared from execution by the intervention of the sage Ezhuran and exiled to the impoverished depths of Milen Hollow, Aurca and his mother, Queen Veluna, are erased from history.

But shadows cannot hide the truth forever. Years later, when the ruthless Senragon seizes the throne through blood and assassinates Veluna, Aurca’s world is shattered. While fleeing from royal executioners and mindless shadows, Aurca finds himself in Penumbra—the lethal borderland between Tenebris and Luminar. Discovering the heritage within his veins, Aurca is left with only one choice: either rot slowly in the darkness or embark on a suicidal march into the heart of the blinding furnace to find the lost Goddess Prana.

PROLOGUE:

The Earth no longer rotates. One half is condemned to eternal light, and the other half to an endless darkness. There is not the slightest trace of life on the other planets in the sky; the galaxy consists only of cold, desolate, and dead pieces of stone.

Yet, a very long time ago, the universe was a completely different place.

In the beginning, when Mother Sun shared her light and warmth with her children, the planetary gods, she gave each of them only a single, pure cosmic energy. Some received only wisdom, some chaos, and some pure passion or power. These one-dimensional energies directly shaped the life on those planets, and the resulting beings took on strange, savage, and monotonous forms.

However, the touch of the Earth Goddess, Prana, was different. Prana had created humanity, that unique masterpiece molded with grace and intellect. This flawless beauty of humans awakened a deep jealousy within the other creators, especially Canu, the god of Mars and the master of Chaos. This hatred grew so much that the gods united against Prana, igniting that great war that shook the stars.

To protect her humans, Prana fought alone until the sky turned blood red… She won the war but suffered mortal wounds. With one final sacrifice, she breathed all her remaining life energy into the humans and completely halted the planet's movement. Her planet was now left suspended in the galaxy, like an object that had stopped following Mother Sun. Mother Sun could no longer remain silent to this planet that had left its orbit and abandoned her, nor to this destructive ambition of her children. She delivered an unprecedented punishment to this war and rebellion that had disrupted the balance of the universe. She stripped all the planetary gods of their singular, pure creation energies and imprisoned them all on Earth. The death of the beings on the other planets occurred on that very day.

And this punishment changed the destiny of humanity forever. Those different cosmic energies imprisoned by Mother Sun on Earth—such as wisdom, chaos, passion, and power—violently merged with the souls of humans. Humans, who were not so diverse before, were dragged into the seven deadly sins through the unique collision of all these opposing forces. However, instead of destroying them, this dark chaos allowed them to evolve into perfection as a completely different species—unpredictable, multi-layered, and programmed to survive.

Today, the oceans have retreated to the poles, leaving behind a single massive mega-continent. On this halted planet, the only source of life in the galaxy, life is now divided into three regions: Luminar, the realm of eternal light; Tenebris, where darkness has descended; and Penumbra, the dangerous border where these two extremes collide.

The war of the gods is over. However, the struggle for survival for these new humans, who carry the flawless chaos of the seven sins and divine energies in their veins, is just beginning…
