When wicked Maya High Priest abducts a young couple's newborn son to be sacrificed, and his wife dies in delivery trauma, this devastated young father is on a mission to get his son back.
SYNOPSIS:
One facet of the incredibly advanced Maya civilization was the practice of human sacrifice. Their motives are uncertain yet may have been to please their God(s) as tribute for blessings received or desired.
This historical fiction exposes the inconsolable anguish experienced by a parent whose newborn is chosen to be sacrificed. Emotional ripping is compounded by the cult’s indoctrination that parents should be content their child was deemed worthy of sacrifice.
Teekaya was enjoying tranquility while beginning a family with his precious wife, Unaee. Yet his dreams are shattered when their wicked High Priest arrives just as their son is delivered and declares the boy is “Chosen” to be sacrificed for the benefit of the People.
How can a parent reconcile their religious leader asking the ultimate sacrifice by their innocent child?
With his newborn son abducted and his beloved wife dead from trauma on the delivery table, Teekaya is left alone to get on with life. But, how?
This story is based on the unpublished historical fiction novel, “Kaitar the Chosen”, by the same writer.
