When two girls take their village's ceremonial staff into the
forest at night, they break the only rule keeping everyone
alive — and wake something that has never needed a reason to kill.
SYNOPSIS:
In a remote village surrounded by forest, life follows one
unbreakable rule: when the bell rings at dusk, every door locks
and no one goes outside. Each family holds a ceremonial staff —
the only object that grants safe passage in the dark. No one
questions the rule. No one needs to. The thing that moves at
night has always been there, and the village learned long ago
that coexistence is the only option.
Ana and Claudia are young, in love, and tired of a life built
around fear. One night they take the staff into the forest —
together, certain that two are safer than one. By morning, the
staff is back at the village threshold. Neither of them is.
What follows is not a rescue. It is a reckoning. The village
must decide how much it is willing to lose to preserve the
order it built — and whether the girls were taken, or simply
showed everyone what was always true: that the rule was never
protection. It was payment.
