A wisecracking private investigator and his partner arrive in a 1950s Ohio town to investigate missing persons, only to discover a religious cult feeding outsiders to a creature called Gluttony—and the investigator's long-lost brother standing at its side.
SYNOPSIS:
In 1950s Ohio, private investigators Teddy and Art travel to the small town of Newton Falls to investigate a series of mysterious disappearances. What begins as a routine case quickly spirals into a nightmare when they discover a charismatic preacher has convinced much of the town that a monstrous creature called Gluttony is God's instrument of judgment, feeding on sinners and outsiders alike. As the creature grows and the town descends further into religious fanaticism, Teddy uncovers a devastating connection between the disappearances and Tyler, the childhood friend he once considered a brother. Forced to confront his guilt over abandoning Tyler years ago, Teddy joins a small resistance determined to save the town before it is consumed by fear, faith, and an insatiable hunger. Combining folk horror, mystery, and dark humor, Newton Falls is a character-driven thriller about brotherhood, fanaticism, and the danger of allowing others to decide who deserves salvation.
