A beach dweller finds purpose when he’s given the ability to heal people, but must wrestle with both the harm the healings cause and the loss of his free will.
SYNOPSIS:
In the calm California beach town of Carpinteria, a young beach dweller is forced to heal people, with every healing bringing more consequence than the last. Alongside him on this spiritually manipulative journey are his verbose skeptical ex-professor friend seeking to teach again, and his retired adult film actress ex-girlfriend looking to come into her individuality and once again be respected as a person. The trio navigate the mysterious dramatic consequences of doing what a strange and imponderable divine being enlists you to do. With every new healing, he must evade the physical consequences of not healing people, the horrors of being known to the public and the media, the scorn of religious fanatics who denounce him as either a heretic or the antichrist, and the legal action of medical institutions, because healings are bad for business. Through the advent of this power, Luke now feels the most powerless he's ever felt, because he is an unwilling servant of something he does not understand.
