In the mid-2000s, a dysfunctional family teeters from riches to rags and tries to rebuild after their patriarch blows their inheritance before blowing himself up.
SYNOPSIS:
The Graham family has built their identity around spectacle. Big house, big parties, big fireworks empire. But when patriarch Darren Graham detonates himself in front of his family at a church fundraiser and leaves them standing in the smoke with an empty house and a mountain of debt, the illusion is blown. He leaves behind a family of emotionally stunted adults who finally have to grow up, now without the cushion of their father's money to soften the fall. The series follows their chaotic attempt to rebuild from zero while clinging to image, ego, and buried secrets. They're about to wake up from the American dream.
As creditors close in and reputations crumble, the Grahams chase shortcuts back to comfort. They pursue ill-advised business schemes, church entanglements, and performance stunts, but discover that rebuilding requires more than they thought. And as they struggle to generate income, one family member quietly becomes the household's most reliable provider, though if his double life is exposed, it could destroy what little stability they have left.
