KITTIE: KONFIDENTIAL
By Seth Stewart

GENRE: Music
LOGLINE:

In this fictionalized reimagining of the Kittie documentary Spit In Your Eye, a troubled fan-turned-videographer maneuvers his way into the inner circle of the metal band Kittie, finding artistic redemption and an unconventional polyamorous romance with the Lander sisters while battling the silent, deteriorating effects of a traumatic brain injury.

SYNOPSIS:

Set against the backdrop of the early 2000s nu-metal scene, the film serves as a fictionalized reimagining of the real-life documentary Spit In Your Eye. The story follows Seth Miller, a shy, troubled fan who maneuvers his way backstage at a Kittie concert with a battered camcorder and a box of pizza. Impressed by his dedication, the band—Morgan Lander, Mercedes Lander, Talena Atfield, and Fallon Bowman—invites him on tour as their official videographer to document the "chaos" of life on the road. Seth quickly evolves from an observer to an integral part of the "pack."

His journey mirrors the band's rise during the Oracle era. After a late-night jam session on the tour bus reveals his hidden guitar talent, he transitions from roadie to a full-fledged member of the band, contributing darker, heavier riffs to the album Oracle. As the tour progresses, Seth’s relationship with the sisters, Morgan and Mercedes, blurs the lines of friendship. He enters into a committed polyamorous relationship with both women, which becomes the emotional anchor of the film. This "unconventional love story" is kept largely secret but fuels the band’s creative output, inspiring songs like "Into the Darkness".

Despite his rising fame, Seth battles severe internal demons. He suffers from Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) caused by childhood concussions and abuse, which manifests as night terrors, memory loss, and impulse control issues. As the pressure of the tour mounts, he struggles to hide his deteriorating condition, relying on "gummies" provided by Morgan to cope with the anxiety. The film spans several years, covering the departure of Fallon Bowman and the band's evolution. Seth eventually launches a secret industrial metal side project with the sisters called Star 67, allowing them to explore an anonymous, heavier sound.

The story culminates with Seth accepting his diagnosis and his unique place within the "unconventional family" of Kittie, finding peace in a life defined by music, resilience, and the shared love of the Lander sisters.
