An unusually cheerful new hire at a struggling border-town restaurant quietly transforms the lives around him as unintended deadly consequences force everyone to choose between survival and morality.
SYNOPSIS:
In a struggling Texas border town, El Loco Gringo is barely surviving. Chef Jeremy, a talented but financially desperate restaurant owner, fights mounting debt, declining business, and the growing pressure of holding his fractured life together.
The arrival of Kris, an unusually cheerful and deeply unsettling new kitchen hire, initially feels like a stroke of luck. Hardworking, calm under pressure, and disturbingly capable, Kris quickly becomes indispensable to the restaurant’s survival. But as a series of unintended violent events begin quietly surrounding the lives of the staff, Kris’s instinct for solving problems starts pulling everyone around him into increasingly dangerous moral territory.
As business improves and tensions rise, ordinary people begin adapting to circumstances they once would have considered unthinkable. Loyalties shift, secrets accumulate, and survival slowly starts demanding compromise after compromise. What begins as a struggling restaurant’s fight to stay afloat evolves into a dark psychological descent where the line between survival and morality becomes harder to recognize.
Border Burger is a grounded psychological crime thriller about transformation, normalization, and how easily people can adapt to the unacceptable when it happens one step at a time.
