MY EYES

MY EYES
By Eric Bakhshi

GENRE: Drama
LOGLINE:

After the death of his partner leaves him emotionally numb, a grieving young man forms an unexpected connection through a “Be My Eyes” call with a blind woman—an encounter that forces them both to rediscover light, perception, and what it truly means to be seen.

SYNOPSIS:

My Eyes follows Eric, a young man trapped in emotional numbness after the death of his partner, Daniel. His days unfold in a repetitive cycle of isolation—crowded subways, silent offices, and a decaying apartment that mirrors his internal collapse. Life continues around him, but Eric remains unseen, disconnected from both the world and himself.

One night, Eric receives an unexpected call through the Be My Eyes app from Sara, a blind woman living alone in Germany. What begins as a simple request for visual assistance slowly transforms into an intimate exchange between two strangers bound by loss. As Eric describes the world through Sara’s camera, he realizes that darkness holds different meanings for each of them—hers physical, his emotional.

Through quiet conversation, shared memories, and moments of vulnerability, Eric and Sara reveal their past traumas: Sara’s blindness caused by a tragic accident that took her family, and Eric’s unresolved grief and guilt over Daniel’s death. In helping Sara navigate her world, Eric is forced to confront his own invisibility and emotional paralysis.

By the end of the call, both characters experience a subtle but profound shift. For the first time since his loss, Eric feels needed, seen, and connected. As morning light fills his apartment, he begins to clean, open the curtains, and allow light back into his life—suggesting that healing does not come from forgetting the darkness, but from learning how to see through it.
