SYNOPSIS:

Leon Voss, an ordinary data analyst who is now Aeterna Dominion Corp's most wanted fugitive, must escape his apartment, which is surrounded by elite troops and hunting drones. Relying only on his analog instincts in a digital city, he manages to escape using the steam from the city's old pipes and unexpected system loopholes. But the greatest threat isn't just Rocas and his men. On the 67th floor, Dr. Vesper Brown has just received an offer from a shadow that shouldn't exist, a being from Echo World who also wants the flash drive around Leon's neck for reasons far older than any corporate war. Leon makes it to the subway, accompanied only by Oscar's pocket watch, which suddenly comes to life and points to a place beneath the city that isn't on any map. Inside the deserted subway car, Leon experiences something beyond logic.

The Echo Broker, an entity from the Echo World dimension made of static and ancient code, appears and persuades him to hand over the flash drive. They aren't enemies, they're the souls of forgotten soldiers, trapped for twenty thousand years in a dimension beyond Mr. David's reach. Then, suddenly, an old woman in the car becomes the voice of a 19-year-old girl who died in a war her country never recognized. Before Leon can process all of this, Vesper cuts the power to the entire Rocas underground sector, and her forces pour in from the darkness of the tunnels. Leon escapes through the southern tunnel, guided by Shayla's light has evolved into Preet, sliding into The Dead Sector just before Rocas's titanium hand grabs him. He collapses twenty steps into the blind area, where someone is waiting for him.
