When Flora’s dream apartment triggers the absurd fear she’ll fling herself off the balcony, she distracts herself by “fixing” her neighbors—stumbling into unlikely romance and the gentle grace she’s been running from.
SYNOPSIS:
After two decades caring for her dying mother, Flora finally moves into a dreamy apartment with a balcony that feels like a promise. But almost instantly, a new fear blooms: she becomes convinced she might leap from it. The thought takes root, spiraling into an obsession she can’t outrun.
So she turns outward — sneaking into the emotional tangles of her neighbors’ lives. A mismatched little community forms around her, and the more Flora pours herself into fixing their hearts, the more her own heart fills with courage. Burt, her cranky hermit of a neighbor, surprises her most of all — their awkward chemistry settling into something unexpectedly sweet.
Echoes of her mother’s Scripture readings drift through her mind, comforting her like quiet hymns. Flora starts to believe she’s helping illuminate everyone’s path — but the brighter her world becomes, the heavier her sense of responsibility grows.
In the end, Burt reminds her of what her mother always knew: Flora doesn’t have to save anyone. That’s God’s work. All she’s called to do is love — freely, faithfully, and hold tight to the wonder that keeps her world bright.
