SYNOPSIS:
Alignment 1: The Awakening follows the true story of Adam Shereston, a former Royal Family gamekeeper whose life collapses into a profound and destabilising spiritual transformation.
After losing his father at six years old, Adam grows into a young man driven by anxiety, ambition, and an unspoken fear of life itself. Seeking stability, he joins the Royal Household at Sandringham, where he finds purpose among the Queen’s Labradors and the vast Norfolk landscape. For a time, life makes sense. But something in him begins to resist the world he serves. His instinct to kill falters, and the quiet companionship of a young fox awakens a buried tenderness that clashes with the brutality of estate work. When the fox is shot during a royal shoot, Adam abruptly walks away from the only structure he has ever known.
He reinvents himself in business, building a fast-growing construction company and chasing wealth with single-minded resolve. Yet the same anxiety that stalked him in childhood intensifies. Fear shadows every achievement. His success becomes a shell around an inner collapse he can no longer outrun.
One ordinary night in a village pub, everything shatters. Adam’s consciousness rips from his body and he finds himself floating above the room, convinced he has died. As panic peaks, a voice speaks inside him with unmistakable clarity: You are not dead, you are immortal. This moment detonates the life he thought he understood. Waves of visions, voices, and energetic surges follow, leaving him unsure whether he is awakening or losing his mind.
What begins as terror becomes initiation. The voice returns, guiding him toward a life he never expected, a life where intuition sharpens, the past resurfaces, and the natural world responds as if recognising him. When he is unexpectedly drawn into healing and horse whispering, Adam discovers he can sense and resolve the emotional imprints held within horses’ bodies. As he works with them, something in him heals as well. The animals mirror his inner wounds, revealing the fear, grief, and early trauma that shaped him long before he had memory or language.
Piece by piece, Adam confronts the truth he has spent a lifetime avoiding. His awakening dismantles his identity, challenges his sanity, and strips him of every façade. But through months of unraveling, he begins to understand the purpose hidden within the pain: his awakening is not an accident, and he is being prepared for a life of service, healing, and communication beyond anything he imagined.
Alignment 1: The Awakening is the story of a man pulled from an ordinary life into a direct encounter with the divine. Raw, intimate, and cinematic, it charts the journey from fear to faith, from fragmentation to alignment, and sets the foundation for the next two books as Adam steps fully into the calling that will define his life.
