A HYPOTHETICAL CAT
By James LO

GENRE: Thriller / Suspense, Art House
LOGLINE:

A woman races the night to untangle the enigma of her boyfriend's disappearance -- a death, a crime, and a family secret -- until, at a lonely pier, she must decide whether to collapse the truth and risk losing him forever.

SYNOPSIS:

COMPARABLES: On the surface, LOCKE (starring Tom Hardy) and THE GUILTY (starring Jake Gyllenhaal) because they’re essentially one actor films and take place over multiple phone calls in a car. Thematically, ARRIVAL (about grief and time) and ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND (about memory and loss).

PRACTICALITIES: Set mostly in a moving car with one main actor, at night, this can be an extremely lean and short production, leaving budget for a name actress, who will be won over by the unique concept and festival appeal.

James LO Super interesting, fascinating, but the word "collapsed" confused me, and it lost the beautiful momentum you created with the rest.
