KYRATHIA

KYRATHIA
By Matthew Wach

GENRE: Science Fiction, Fantasy
LOGLINE: Forged by grief and pain, two brothers awaken god-like abilities within themselves. As they struggle to adapt to their individual lives, they are inherently forced to confront each other as well — and the devastating cost of power that was never meant to be wielded by mankind.

SYNOPSIS:

After the loss of his wife and unborn children, Kyler’s grief becomes unbearable for a single mind to contain. The emotional rupture fractures reality itself, splitting one man into two godlike beings: Kyler and Rathe — manifestations of creation and wrath born from the same soul. Bound by shared origin but driven by opposing instincts, the brothers are forced to fight both alongside and against one another as their powers reshape worlds, distort morality, and leave irreversible consequences in their wake. What begins as survival becomes a reckoning, as their bond pushes them toward an inevitable conclusion — one that will demand a cost neither was ever meant to pay.

Since you've labeled this as both Sci-Fi and Fantasy, the "how" and "where" matter:

The World: Does this take place on a distant planet (Kyrathia?) or an alternate Earth?

The Magic/Tech: Is their "god-like" status biological, extra-dimensional, or purely magical? If the power was "never meant to be wielded by mankind," does the universe itself try to "correct" their existence?

Jay A Swendris this one might take a significant explanation, because not only is it sci-fi and fantasy, but it’s also “adult animation”. Meaning there’s a thicker line between fantasy and reality, they don’t bleed into each other like they do in live action films.

So to start near the beginning, Kyrathia originally was grounded on earth (potentially a mirrored earth) but a tragic accident occurred and it split Kyler’s subconscious into two beings. Creating Rathe, that subconscious split is the origin of the Fantasy. The subconsciousness splitting, or as I prefer to call it— fracturing— ,is a very important aspect of the series, because it is reoccurring.

After Kyler’s subconscious fractures, him and Rathe are brought into a separate reality by — The Echo Queen, who’s a deity-like being with female features. The echo queen brings them to a realm known as the “echo realm” which is a realm for the wicked souls that are denied passage into both, divinity and diminishment. The main antagonist reacts emotionally when he senses his wife’s soul there and he unintentionally destroys the echo realm,. does 3 things at once.:

1- it pushes Kyler past his breaking point, psychologically. (Thriller)

2- it creates a new plot, what to do with this vast empty realm that was once filled with the wicked. (Fantasy)

3- Sets up the creation of the “Endochamber”. A self made preservation like prison that Kyler made to punish himself. After Kyler experiences a second subconscious mental fracture, his powers multiply. The endochamber becomes a sanctuary for Kyler instead, allowing him to meditate and hone in on his assets and newly discovered powers. Thus he develops the ability to create an entire new universe via his imagination. (Sci-fi + fantasy)

With that… brief, explanation: how and why? Both answered. Now comes the simple answer to the complex question: All 3 my friend. God-like, extra dimensional and magical, because one very important aspect. Kyler unleashed the full potential of the power of the imagination.

In conclusion: No, the universe isn’t equipped to correct something it doesn’t even know exists yet.

(Apologies for the delay, watching the new Avatar while I was responding) I hope that answers the questions you have.
