THE PRICE OF PURITY

THE PRICE OF PURITY
By Fares Moha

GENRE: Thriller / Suspense, Science Fiction
LOGLINE:

A desperate woman undergoes a prison-transfer procedure, absorbing a wealthy man's sentence so he can walk free — but a malfunction transfers not just his conviction, but every murder he committed into her mind. He leaves empty. She goes to prison full of his crimes. And she's becoming him."

SYNOPSIS:

In a world where the rich can legally transfer minor sentences to the poor through a state-run system, Kelly, 26, faces a desperate choice: sell five years of her life in prison to save her dying mother and starving siblings. The sum, half a million dollars, will be enough to change everything.

Her buyer is Ridge Boston, heir to an untouchable dynasty, officially convicted of a minor offense. But Ridge has buried a much darker secret: a series of unsolved murders, with no written trace, no database. Legally, they never happened.

On the day of the transfer, the machine malfunctions violently. Sparks fly. Systems collapse. The technicians insist: the procedure worked. Ridge walks out, his face blank and dazed, as if someone hit "reset" on his soul.

Kelly collapses.

In prison, she starts seeing things she never lived through: dark alleys, terrified faces, hands around throats. At first, she thinks they're nightmares. Then she understands: the machine didn't just transfer Ridge's sentence. It absorbed everything he did. Every murder. Every repressed urge.

Kelly, once gentle and protective, hardens. She becomes tougher. Harder. More violent. The other inmates start to fear her. The guards watch her more closely. She's no longer serving someone else's sentence—she's becoming him.

On the outside, Ridge lives a clean, unremarkable life. Without his crimes, he's almost ordinary. A new man who barely remembers who he was.

Inside, Kelly transforms. And worse: instincts that Ridge never fully embraced begin to awaken in her, stronger and wilder than anything he ever felt.

The monster she absorbed may be nothing compared to the one she's becoming.

And Ridge is still out there, free. Living the life she gave him.
