SYNOPSIS:
Ryan smokes a cigar because he doesn’t care about his future health or how he’s going to fix the AC in his trailer, but he is determined to press buttons on the AC display like their apps piled up on his phone. The display is of no use, and Ryan takes a moment to regain his composure before he calls maintenance. Ryan takes his shirt off due to being frustrated about the heat before he hears the voicemail from maintenance. The maintenance recording briefs Ryan that maintenance is unavailable to take his call before there’s a knock at the front door of the trailer which is alarming. He answers the door with no shirt to be completely unimpressed by what he sees. A sudden crack of laughter breaks the awkward tension and in front of Ryan stands an amused friend of Ryan’s, named CJ. CJ disregards Ryan’s well-being as he deliberately steps past Ryan into Ryan’s trailer. CJ immediately lectures Ryan about the insanely hot trailer before Ryan is cruel and drinks the only good drinking water in front of CJ. Ryan says that CJ shouldn’t have been there because he is sick. Ryan feels desperate to tell CJ he is going with his girlfriend to the farmer’s market to get more water. Ryan and CJ meet Arri, Ryan’s girlfriend, in the parking lot, in Arri’s Car. Ryan demands to drive to be lively while he sings to the radio music and immerses himself in traffic. With excitement in the air, Ryan merges into the turn-in entrance lane on the right for the farmer’s market parking lot. Suddenly, a pick-up truck speeds across from the left hand turn lane in the street before on-coming traffic and cuts Ryan off as Ryan is pulling in right into the parking lot. The pick-up truck doesn’t yield for Ryan. Ryan is ecstatically honking from the sight of the pick-up truck cutting him off. Ryan follows the pick-up truck and parks next to it to see a drunk male in his 30s getting out of the pick-up truck. D-Bag, an overly drunk redneck, gets around his pick-up truck and starts yelling at Ryan in the car. He is very mad and points to the ground in taunting Ryan to get out of the car as Ryan taunts him back from inside the car. Something snaps in Ryan, and he gets out of the car as CJ follows. Ryan transforms into making D-Bag angrier, so CJ steps in between them in attempt to break up a potential fight, but D-Bag is beyond the point of returning to his priorities. D-Bag pushes CJ, and with adrenaline rushing, Ryan whales a punch to D-Bag’s face. D-Bag is now too drunk and too stunned to defend himself, so Ryan drags him against his will, slams him against his pick-up truck, and delivers non-stop punches to D-Bag’s face and head. CJ joins and punches D-Bag repeatedly to the face and head on the other side of Ryan. D-Bag cries as his face gushes blood, but he is beside himself emotionally, and ultimately, he wants to fix himself up in the farmer’s market. Officer Johnson lets him meet the second cop at the entrance of the farmer’s market to go inside to clean himself and reconcile. Officer Johnson finds out from Ryan and CJ that they were upset that D-Bag cut them off. Ryan elaborates that he and his friend are innocent because they were acting on self- defense because D-Bag charged them when they got out of the car. They also further elaborate that they were defending each other, the car, and Ryan’s girlfriend in the car. Though the righteousness of Ryan and CJ’s perspective is fair due to D-Bag’s intoxicated state, Ryan and CJ are willing to leave to distance themselves from D-Bag. Officer Johnson lets them go with a warning.
