An uninspired law graduate grappling with crippling self-doubt discovers a sentient A.I. necklace that transforms her into a powerful superhero, forcing her to battle her inner demons while protecting her loved ones from a vindictive genius who created her power and now seeks to destroy it.

SYNOPSIS:

The series opens on Melody Mardeaux (Anthropomorphic Purple Pine Marten), a 22-year-old law graduate adrift in a sea of self-doubt, finding more solace in her girlfriend Misty's music than in her own future. Working at her mother's bakery in the Dewey Park district, her life is a holding pattern of unfulfilled potential. One night, lost in a thought, she discovers a glowing, futuristic, necklace in a dark alley. The necklace, a sentient A.I. named SPARKS, recognizes her inherent goodness and activates for the first time.

The moment is shattered when two thugs attempt to steal the necklace. In a surge of panic, Melody wishes for a way to stop them, and SPARKS responds instantly, transforming her into the powerful, iron-clad hero Starbright. She easily defeats the attackers and flees just as police arrive, leaving a sharp and tenacious Detective Freddie Caster (Orange Cat) to discover the scene -- and begin the dogged investigation that will become a central threat to her identity. Thrilled and terrified, Melody tests her new abilities -- jet boosts, superhuman agility, and an ion-rope for swinging through the city. Her trial by fire comes when SPARKS detects a heist by the notorious "Clockwork Hands" mob. Leaping into action, Melody defeats the city's toughest thieves, cementing her new role.

This victory, however, is short-lived. Across the city, the news report of the new hero reaches Dr. Shana Hyder (Indigo Hyena), the brilliant but narcissistic scientist who created SPARKS and discarded it as a failure. Consumed by rage and jealousy that an "unworthy weasel" has succeeded with her "stolen" invention, she vows to reclaim her creation and utterly destroy the person who now wears it. The spark of a hero has ignited the fury of a powerful nemesis.
