Two scrawny janitors at a fire department, transformed into powerful heroes by a catastrophic explosion, must assemble a team of misfits to protect their new city from a super-powered crime syndicate led by the very colleagues who once mocked them.
SYNOPSIS:
The 12-episode series arc begins with Kip Fields (Anthropomorphic Male Blue Fox) and Kacey Flowers (Anthropomorphic Female Red Fox), two best friends whose dream of being firefighters has stalled. Due to their small stature, they've been relegated to janitorial work at the Lakewood Fire Department, where they are mocked relentlessly by their peers. Their lives are irrevocably changed when a fire at a research lab triggers a massive reactor explosion. The blast sends a wave of mutating energy across the town, wiping Lakewood off the map and putting Kip and Kacey into a two-month coma. They awaken in Brook City, a sprawling metropolis, to discover they have been transformed into towering, super-powered versions of themselves -- Kip a 6'8" Blue Fox and Kacey a 6'5" Red Fox.
Forced to abandon their old lives, they take mundane jobs at the local ice cream parlor, trying to piece together a new normal. However, their past is not so easily escaped. A select group of their former colleagues, also mutated by the blast and led by their once-heroic Captain, Michael Vincenzo (Black Wolf), have surfaced in Brook City. Twisted by their new powers and a bitter sense of betrayal, they have formed a secret crime syndicate known as "The Crest". Under the masked identity of "Black Knight", Michael and his enforcers begin a campaign of chaos, seeking revenge and aiming to impose their own brand of brutal order on the city.
Unable to stand by, Kip and Kacey Don homemade costumes and embrace their new abilities to become the city's protector. They are not alone; their loyal friends from Lakewood -- investigator Vicky Wolfinski (Purple Wolf), comic relief Rhett Ribbert (Green Frog), powerhouse Angie Pratt (Pink Pronghorn), and tech genius Ryder Leon (Orange Lion) -- join their cause. Together, this unlikely found family forms the "City Knights". Throughout the season, they must learn to work as a team, earn the trust of the city's official first responders, and battle the increasingly personal threats from The Crest, culminating in a devastating confrontation where the true identity of their greatest enemy is revealed.
