GET OFF ME!

GET OFF ME!
By Andrey Shvidko

GENRE: Drama
LOGLINE:

Can one find refuge from a nagging and hypocritical society?

In a world that relentlessly suffocates and pressures, the protagonist desperately seeks an escape from escalating chaos.

SYNOPSIS:

Every new day brings the main character disappointment and disgust with the surrounding world. At work, the protagonist is forced to endure rude remarks from his cynical boss; at home, he listens to the foolish chatter of his wife. Insolence, hypocrisy, and obtrusiveness pursue him everywhere—in the store, on the street, in the media, and even when trying to find solitude in the park. And then he runs... into nowhere!

The hypocrisy of a ruthless society is fully encapsulated in the words of a trade company head: "Candies are not just for kids! Farmers and truck drivers—everyone in our country should suck!" As attempts to break free from the oppressive atmosphere grow more desperate, the story inexorably leads to a climax where the line between survival and madness becomes indistinguishable. The apotheosis of his insanity becomes an underground tunnel dug by the main character in his own yard.
