THE WASP INVASION (CONCEPT STAGE)

THE WASP INVASION (CONCEPT STAGE)
By Staffan Von Zeipel

GENRE: Science Fiction
LOGLINE:

When alien swarms disguised as wasps descend to harvest human brains, humanity must exploit their one weakness—daylight—before the hive mind evolves beyond anything we can outthink.

The Wasp Invasion

SYNOPSIS:

Earth is under silent siege - by invaders no larger than a paperclip.

These alien lifeforms are barely a centimeter long and individually no smarter than a wasp. But together, they’re terrifyingly intelligent. Using biophotonic signals-flashes of light invisible to the human eye-they communicate in swarms, creating a hive mind that becomes exponentially more intelligent with every new unit added. The closer they are, the brighter and faster their neural network fires.

To blend in, they mimic Earth’s wasps, complete with mechanical wings and realistic exoskeletons. But their true goal is far more sinister: they’ve learned that mammals - especially humans - carry their brains at the top. So they attack from above, descending silently to devour brains first. The more they eat, the faster they multiply - and the smarter they become.

At night, their glowing pulses synchronize like a macabre symphony, forming vast webs of intelligence. But in daylight, their light-based communication falters, giving humanity one small window of hope. As society collapses and the swarm grows, mankind must find a way to outwit an enemy that thinks faster than any supercomputer - and hungers for what makes us human.

The Wasp Invasion is a pulse-pounding sci-fi thriller where survival depends not just on strength, but on staying one step ahead of the swarm.

Consider stopping logline at "...daylight." It already sounds like they can out think us!
