On a remote island in the Stockholm archipelago, a class reunion spirals into fear, suspicion, and violence — but seen through a different set of eyes, the same night reveals new truths, hidden tensions, and a darker path beneath the surface.
SYNOPSIS:
The Reckoning is a companion film to Final Reunion, unfolding during the same winter night on a secluded island outside Stockholm. Cut off from the mainland and surrounded by darkness, the gathering slowly unravels as buried conflicts, fractured relationships, and long-suppressed memories rise to the surface. What begins as an attempt to reconnect becomes a tightening psychological trap.
Told from a completely different perspective, the film uncovers the unseen moments, private tensions, and hidden fractures that shaped the disaster. Rather than retelling the story, it expands it — revealing how small decisions, unspoken fears, and shifting alliances transformed an ordinary reunion into a night of escalating dread. Together with Final Reunion, it forms a two-film Nordic noir duology exploring guilt, silence, and the shadows we carry from childhood into adulthood.
