The greatest gold strike of the Rush is protected by creatures of legend. For a band of prospectors, the dream of fortune just became a fight for survival.
SYNOPSIS:
Inspired by the films "Sinners" and "Pan's Labyrinth"
A mother and father tell their 7-year-old son a fairy tale: Far beyond the mountains, in the wild, untouched forests, live werewolves who guard precious golden treasures and magical artifacts. These treasures were left by people who lived in those forests many years ago and abandoned them after an unknown, powerful force drove them out. And now, werewolves live in those forests. No one knows where they came from, but they love gold dearly and guard it, just like dragons! Werewolves don't use gold like humans do; they only protect it. No one knows why or from whom... But one thing is certain: anyone who comes close to their treasures will be shown no mercy and will not leave alive.
Twenty-one or twenty-eight years later...
Story Episodes:
Introduction, Mundane Life, Preparing for the Journey. A gold prospector, aged 28 or 35, and his friends plan to head into the wild, untouched forests beyond the mountain in search of gold. They are destitute, they need money, they have no choice. They are young and ready to risk everything. They have nothing to lose...
Journey to the Wild Places. During the journey, the main character hears the tale of the werewolves that his parents told him in childhood. In the story, he hears new details: that the werewolves are prospectors who touched the cursed gold and turned into mad werewolves who now guard it.
Arrival in the Wild Forests Beyond the Mountain. Giant pines and strange caves, human bones and belongings of previous prospectors. The main character finds his father's belongings in a cave and realizes that this is exactly where his father was—the father who left them to go on a gold-seeking expedition to these places.
Werewolf Attack. At night, a werewolf kills and eats their dog. That same night, a werewolf attacks the main character's friend and tears out his heart. After this, the main character approaches this werewolf with a pitchfork. The werewolf looks at him and does not attack. This werewolf was the main character's father.
When four other werewolves attack the main character and his remaining friends, the werewolf-father shows them a secret cave that werewolves cannot enter, as it is enchanted. The prospectors enter this cave; it is vast and filled with gold and magical artifacts. The werewolf-father tells his son not to touch these items. Afterwards, the other werewolves pounce on him and tear him apart before his son's eyes. The main character, the son of the werewolf, now stands between the four werewolves and his friends, who have run off to gather the treasures.
After they touch the golden objects, they begin to transform into werewolves. However, these new werewolves do not kill their friend (the main character) because he is holding the golden bracelet given to him by his werewolf-father. This bracelet repels werewolves and grants protection to its wearer.
Thanks to this bracelet, the main character manages to return home.
At the end of the story, the main character looks out his window at night and sees the silhouette of a werewolf that has followed him to his settlement. This werewolf is his friend, who managed to survive the attack by the larger, older werewolves.
The motivation of the werewolf-friend is to return the golden bracelet to the cave from which it was taken long ago in the past... by the main character's grandfather.
