Logline: A perceptive engineer discovers that all employees of his company are being transferred to another branch, which is actually a human farm, while workers are being replaced by bio-robot copies — far more efficient, with no rights, and requiring no salary. When the engineer uncovers the secret plan, he decides to expose the truth to the media and destroy the human farm, but the company launches a deadly hunt for him.
Tagline 1: The truth is his only weapon.
Tagline 2: People are no longer needed.
Concept:
A regular 35-year-old male engineer works at a large corporation. One of the directors reveals a secret: the company has begun experimenting with replacing employees with clones.
The director tells the engineer that many of the people he works with are no longer human, but their copies.
As they approach a building, the engineer sees himself — or rather, his copy. The director tells him that he no longer needs to come to work; the copy will do the job in his place.
Director:
“The idea of the experiment is this: all employees are being replaced by their copies, while the real employees are sent to another secret facility where only humans work — no clones at all. Get ready.”
The engineer prepares to travel with the director the next evening to the “new secret facility.” But he becomes curious and starts observing his copy. He follows it returning from work and going home to its family.
By chance, the copy notices him, grabs him, and they begin to talk. That’s when the engineer learns something he never expected.
Engineer’s Copy:
“Actually, you are the copy, not me. I’m the real one, and you’re not. The company leadership decided to create copies of all employees so that these copies would act as donors for the substances their bodies produce. The copies are designed with slightly modified glands to produce compounds that the original humans will use to stay young. These substances keep the originals from aging, make them smarter, stronger, healthier, and extremely successful and loyal employees for the company.
The director told you that you were real and I was the copy, and you believed it. He said you would go to the secret facility where only real humans work.
But in reality, this secret facility is a human farm. When you arrive, they’ll give you a shot — supposedly a vaccine. You’ll fall asleep and be placed in a capsule, where you will sleep for hundreds of years. Your body will produce healing substances for me. I will live, and you won’t.
This secret farm already holds hundreds of clones, including a clone of your director. You’ve noticed how he has become younger and slimmer, and how his asthma and diabetes have been cured.
Now, what are you going to do, having learned the truth?”
Story Development Options:
The clone goes to the farm and frees all the other clones. Together, they form an army and attack the company leadership.
The clone kills the original and assumes his identity. But the company discovers the deception, and a hunt begins for the clone.
