ENTANGLED is a high-concept action thriller built on a dual narrative: one unfolding in present-day reality, the other inside a novel being written in real-time. The title evokes quantum entanglement — distant systems linked in ways no one fully understands. The film asks: In a world where everything is monitored and predicted, can free will survive?

ACT ONE

At 3 AM in Denver, John Burgess, a 29-year-old tech journalist, wakes compelled to write a spy thriller he doesn't understand. He sends the first chapter to literary agent Robert Sullivan, whose reader Brenda Marks begins evaluating it. What neither realizes is that the events John is writing are simultaneously unfolding in the real world.

John's novel follows Professor Rob Chase, a Princeton computer scientist whose Internet traffic analysis software can identify terrorist communications by tracking anomalous routing patterns. When his graduate assistant Ryan Tyler discovers suspicious traffic from Karachi, the lab is bombed by Wajhulla terrorists. Ryan is killed — along with a woman believed to be Amira Khan, Rob's lover and guest lecturer. Investigating her background, Rob discovers she never existed. The real Amira Khan died as a child in Iowa.

NSA agents arrive, reveal they funded his research, and recruit him back into covert operations. Rob is reinstated as Lt. Colonel Rob Chase and assembles an elite team: Private Bill Ryder (tech), Sergeant Brett Welker (surveillance), and Captain Brigid Callahan (intelligence).

ACT TWO

The team deploys to Karachi. Surveillance of the Wajhulla network yields a stunning discovery: Amira is alive. She is Rana Tareen — a deep-cover CIA operative whose encrypted messaging system was hijacked by someone inside U.S. intelligence to communicate with the terrorists.

The investigation exposes a rogue CIA operation run by Herman Rodman, who has been funding Wajhulla to infiltrate larger terrorist networks. Rob's software threatened to expose him. Rodman kidnaps John, believing he can use John's prophetic writing to stay ahead of the task force hunting him: if John keeps writing, Rodman always knows his enemies' next move.

Back in the U.S., the NSA's Special Investigations Unit — Assistant Director Rick Drummond and analyst Priscilla Reed — has discovered the impossible: John's chapters predict classified operations three to four days before they occur. The temporal gap is compressing. The intelligence community faces an unprecedented breach from a man with no clearances and no apparent access.

ACT THREE

Rob identifies the flaw in Rodman's plan: John can only write dialogue after hearing it. He cannot invent conversations — he is a conduit. Rob's team goes completely silent, communicating only through written notes and gestures. Denied dialogue, John stalls at his keyboard. Desperate, he uses an internet key to contact Brenda Marks directly, bypassing safe house monitoring. The FBI's Critical Incident Response Group triangulates his location.

In a coordinated multi-agency operation, the FBI rescues John while Rana's team raids Rodman's computer dead drop, exposing the full conspiracy. Rob confronts Rodman in his CIA office. FBI Agent Malcolm Sprague arrests him for murder, kidnapping, and treason.

RESOLUTION AND EPILOGUE

John writes the final scene: Rob and Rana's reunion kiss in Rodman's office. The entire task force watches it scroll across their screens in real-time. The room erupts in applause as John types "The End."

The next morning, John begins writing again — this time about five women who can change the future. Rob learns before dawn that Burgess is writing. Rana accepts that even their love may already have been written. Rob briefs Colonel Weston with the survivable version of events. By evening, Reed's system flags a new keyword. Drummond hears one word — Mogadishu — and orders Chase brought in.
