SYNOPSIS:

Nineteen-year-old Lisa, known as Pink, is bold and outspoken, desperate to escape her domineering mother’s abuse in Provo, Utah. With her new friend Alison, a shy seventeen-year-old from northern Utah, Pink hatches a plan to hitchhike to Las Vegas, dreaming of freedom. But once they arrive, rejection by family and a chance encounter with men who seem helpful quickly spiral into a nightmare.

At first, the girls find temporary shelter with Pink’s cousin’s ex-husband and his roommate, but betrayal fractures the fragile trust between them. When Alison is kicked out, she seeks refuge with a seemingly kind couple, Corwin and Tina. Pink follows, only to discover Corwin is a ruthless pimp. Trapped inside his apartment, the girls are subjected to control, intimidation, and degradation. Pink’s bold defiance makes her a target, while Alison’s youth makes her vulnerable.

Seeing Alison’s age as a liability, Corwin puts her on a bus back to Utah. Left alone, Pink endures new “tests,” including being sent with one of Corwin’s associates, who tells him she’ll never break. Using her wits, Pink orchestrates her escape, seizing the smallest crack of opportunity when Corwin’s guard steps out. Racing down the stairs and into the night, she finally breaks free.

Exhausted, Pink finds her way back to her aunt and uncle’s home, refusing to involve police. Weeks later, at a Vegas club, she unexpectedly encounters Corwin one last time. Instead of reclaiming her, he acknowledges her strength and walks away. For the first time, Pink realizes she has truly won, scarred but unbroken.
