SYNOPSIS:

In a frozen post-apocalyptic world where humanity survives in underground volcanic caves, Cita, a devoted wife and mother, embarks on a dangerous journey to the underworld to save her injured husband Acopa from exile into the deadly wasteland. Guided by a conflicted underworld servant named Tenamitl, she traverses the realm of the dead, facing various gods and challenges while searching for a way to restore sunlight to the world above. After discovering that a "divided soul" - one marked by both life and death - can become the new sun through self-sacrifice, Cita realizes she must make the ultimate choice. Despite having the chance to save just her family, she decides to sacrifice herself by leaping into the sacred fire in Quetzalcoatl's temple, transforming into the Sixth Sun and bringing warmth and light back to all of humanity. Her sacrifice not only saves her family but redeems Tenamitl and restores hope to a dying world.
