In Nazi-occupied France, a lipstick-wielding resistance fighter seduces, codes, and kills her way through a collapsing spy network — using charm and violence in equal measure to avenge the ones they forgot.
SYNOPSIS:
Verdette Le Grand is the glamorous, sharp-tongued trophy wife of an aging Viscount — until Vichy France collapses and she’s forced to choose a side. Reconnecting with her first love, a dashing Army intelligence officer, she joins the Resistance and quickly rises through the ranks with her wit, nerve, and coded seduction.
But when her cell is betrayed, Verdette is forced to flee — first into hiding in Germany, then into the firestorm of the Eastern Front, where she becomes a reluctant fighter for the Polish Resistance. Along the way, she discovers love in unlikely places, develops a fierce maternal instinct, and learns that pity is more dangerous than hate.
Haunted, hunted, and never quite safe, Verdette survives not by strength or purity — but by being smarter, funnier, and more ruthless than anyone expected.
