SYNOPSIS:

Synopsis – Inheritance

When Elijah Brooks, a proud but battle-worn veteran, and his perceptive younger sister Simone inherit a long-abandoned plantation from a distant ancestor, they see it as a chance to reclaim a piece of generational wealth long denied to their family. Set deep in the rural South, the Hollingsworth estate is a decaying monument to America’s buried sins — once a plantation, then a haunted memory, and now a chilling inheritance neither of them fully understands. Despite uneasy warnings from the local lawyer, Mr. Caldwell, the siblings move in — determined to renovate, restore, and finally own something that once belonged to people like them.

But the land has a memory. The deeper they settle in, the more the house begins to react — floors that breathe, portraits that change, voices behind walls. The nearby town seems frozen in time, its residents — especially the eerie Parish family — oddly welcoming but quietly menacing. Simone senses something is deeply wrong: rooms shift, photographs rearrange themselves, and an invisible force watches from the woods. Elijah, driven by pride and purpose, refuses to leave, convinced this land is their birthright — even as it begins to warp his mind.

As buried history comes to life, the Brooks siblings uncover more than old ghosts. Beneath the house is a sealed passage used in rituals by the plantation’s former owners — a cult that worshiped something not just evil, but eternal. The townspeople are not bystanders but protectors of a cycle, feeding blood to the land in exchange for false peace. The siblings are not just new owners — they are new offerings.

To survive, Simone and Elijah must unravel the truth of their family's past, confront what the land truly demands, and decide whether to escape with their lives — or destroy the source of its power once and for all. Inheritance is a Southern Gothic nightmare about bloodlines, buried trauma, and the terrifying question: What if the land doesn’t want to let go of you?
