THE PACK

THE PACK
By Jonathan Fear

GENRE: Horror
LOGLINE:

A haunted ex-soldier is lured to a remote estate by an ancient force who wants him, but her jealous guardian will kill to keep them apart.

SYNOPSIS:

Evan Milne, a former British Intelligence officer burdened by guilt and trauma, accepts a suspiciously lucrative job offer to oversee a rewilding project on a remote Scottish estate. Promised simplicity, monitor wolves, keep people out, he arrives to find something far more sinister buried beneath the mist and moss.

The estate’s owner, Lord Denacuileagan, is eerily composed, his motives unclear. The Shepherd, a grotesque figure with reptilian features and a venomous Scottish drawl, reeks of menace. And Leanah, a woman from Evan’s past, or imagination, reappears with seductive precision and impossible knowledge.

Evan quickly discovers that the forest is alive with more than wolves. An ancient, shape-shifting black mass haunts the land, capable of devouring bodies, warping minds, and mimicking form. As trespassers turn up mutilated, Evan is blackmailed into helping cover up murders that echo secrets from his time in Afghanistan.

With bodies piling up and his sanity unravelling, Evan realises he’s been lured to the estate for reasons that have nothing to do with wildlife management. Every element; Leanah, the wolves, the Shepherd, is part of a larger test. A trap. One that he’s failed before. One designed by something not entirely human.

As the estate collapses into a nightmarish blood rite, Evan must decide whether to fight, escape, or submit to the monstrous system that feeds on isolation, trauma, and control.

The Pack is a contained, fast-paced supernatural thriller that merges military PTSD, British folklore, and body horror into a singular descent. It asks not just what lives in the woods, but what kind of man survives them.
