By Darrell Pennington

GENRE: Comedy, Animation

Dave, a suicidal stoner, heads to his favorite restaurant, Nacho Libre's, for his last supper when a cartoon series, The Adventures of Stinky Stephen, now appearing on the restaurant's placemats, gives Dave pause, causing him to re-examine his life.

SYNOPSIS:

Dave is down on his luck. Divorced, father of three and a failed musician he has decided to end it all. During the planning session for his demise he decides he must have a proper last supper at his favorite restaurant, Nacho Libre's.

Nacho Libre's is the ultimate adult playground restaurant. Especially if you are a stoner. Dave used to frequent it regularly until his financial situation made it impossible. He reacquaints himself with the staff and clientele and relishes his decision to come one final time.

As he waits for his meal to arrive, he notices that a new feature has been added. The placemats now tell The Adventures of Stinky Stephen. How odd that the strip is so similar to his current situation. He makes a passing reference to his waitress about the placemats and she said that the previous ones are available for sale. They have become collectors items and people come in each week just to follow the storyline.

Dave buys all of the previous placemats and goes home to read them. His is dumbfounded. It's as if his life is the direct inspiration for the placemat series. Is he being punked? Or is the Universe trying to send him a message? He delays his final destination, determined to see how Stephen's adventures turn out and determine if life is imitating art or art is imitating life?
