FOR HIM. WITH HIM. WITHOUT HIM.

FOR HIM. WITH HIM. WITHOUT HIM.
By Emmanuel Jomy

GENRE: Mystery, Drama
LOGLINE:

On the eve of a controversial psychiatric procedure, a woman confined in an isolated facility is forced to confront a buried crime through a final letter—only to unravel the terrifying truth that the man she trusted, loved, and killed for may have never existed at all.

SYNOPSIS:

On the eve of a scheduled psychiatric procedure, Therese—a once-brilliant mind now confined within a secluded mental facility—overhears a quiet conversation that suggests something is about to be taken from her. Something she has “held onto for too long.” As a violent storm engulfs the building and darkness cuts the power, the fragile order around her begins to crack.

Alone in her room, Therese clings to routine—cleaning, arranging, controlling—until she finally sits down to write a letter to the man she believes defined her life. Through fragmented memories of stolen moments, whispered secrets, and a crime they committed together, the letter becomes her last connection to him—a love that felt real, consuming, and dangerous.

But as the words pour out, so does the truth.

The memories begin to distort. The voice that once guided her falls silent. And a single question from the past resurfaces, cutting through everything she believed—forcing her to confront a terrifying possibility: that the man she loved, trusted, and killed for may have never existed at all.

As her reality collapses under the weight of that realization, Therese is left alone with the truth she can no longer escape.

She didn’t do it for him.

She didn’t do it with him.

She did everything without him.

This sounds super intriguing Emmanuel Jomy. Consider adding stakes to your logline - what happens if she doesn't come to terms with his non-existence?

Emmanuel Jomy

Leonardo Ramirez that is a really good question. The thing is she considers him as a witness, a justification to everything she has done in her past. And like you told, if I write it in a way that takes the protagonist to not come in terms with his non-existence well then he remains as her justification and a means to escape. Without letting him go she just not lose reality only but loses herself.

But thank you...that is a really good idea you've put forward
