Two lives headed south find each other, the universe and dumb luck to wind up head over heels.
SYNOPSIS:
Garret Goodson is stuck in a rut. He longs to break free from his anonymous existence and take life by the horns. But, life has other plans.
Arriving to work he’s met by a note from his boss. Never a good thing. When Anisa “reassigns” him to his couch at home even his mind-numbing job is history. His only hope is a bath of light around Sheena, a girl he’s never seen before. At the end of his emotional rope he takes a leap of faith.
After consulting with his stuffed tiger Hidalgo he decides to win the girl by posing as a pizza delivery man. Things go south in a hurry when the security guard refuses him entry. One thing leads to another and Garret is racing through the office slamming into desks, bagel bars and people on his desperate quest to reach the girl. Just as he does, the guard tackles him and an all out wrestling match runs riot in the office. It’s not until Anisa clocks the guard that he’s out from under her. Unfortunately, his clever attempt left only messy pizza in the girl’s lap and him with a lifetime ban.
Undaunted, he tries again. This time as a gas guy. It might have worked except she was in Anisa’s office getting “reassigned” too. Furious, she almost knocks him over throwing her things in a box. He’s about to make his move when the guard recognizes him and another chase erupts. But, not before he drops a little present in her lap.
In the hall, the lunatic guard tazes Garret sending him into agonizing convulsions. The last thing he sees is Sheena knocking her out with a heavy-duty three-hole punch.
In a twist of fate, the hospital signs him out to Sheena because they can’t find any information on him. Reluctantly, she stands watch with crochet needles as he comes to. It makes no sense, but that’s the health care system.
A clumsy conversation later and it’s a date. 7:00 pm at the Conservancy for a stroll with destiny.
It’s going well until the pond fountain inexplicably soaks them both. While drying off it starts to rain mere seconds before a lightening strike knocks them off their feet. Taking the hint they race for shelter in a potter’s shed. Inside they connect, leaning in for a first kiss when, boom, another flash blurs everything. When the smoke clears Garret stumbles out of the shed. Sheena is nowhere to be found. Except, he can hear her. And, she can hear him. And, they can see the same things. At the same time. The magic in the shed sent Sheena into Garret’s head!
Meanwhile, across town, a secret, covert agency of the Army is trying to do the very thing Garret and Sheena accidentally did. It doesn’t take long for word to get to Colonel Graft, her lackey Major Collins and his sidekick Cleveland. Their experiments failed and they need Garret’s coconut.
Sheena’s overprotective thermodynamic savant mother Bernadette is on the warpath to get her daughter back. Tracking Sheena’s phone to Garret’s place, the whole sordid mess is about to get sorted, no matter what.
Graft has Garret strapped to a gurney in ICC’s secret location on the path to a lobotomy when Bernadette sneaks in and starts a diversionary fire. In the melee, Cleveland helps them escape taking his revolutionary ideas with him.
The only way to reverse the phenomenon is to go back to square one. Cleveland puts a catheter in Garret’s arm to “print” Sheena at the moment of truth. His algorithm puts clouds in the sky and lightening in the air. It’s touch and go when Graft shows up with a rifle. While she monologues, Bernadette knocks her out from behind with a garden trestle. Now, it’s time.
One more blast, one more flash and Sheena is out, Garret is in and the whole gang is ready to live happily ever after. Except for Collins, who knew Cleveland had something up his sleeve.
Ordering his soldiers to clean up the mess, they take Graft away in cuffs for “setting fire to government property.” Maybe Collins isn’t such a lackey after all.
All’s well that ends well when great minds come together.
