When a stoic Kudu and a neurotic Antelope get their horns physically locked during
a lion attack, they must survive the African Savannah and a relentless predator while
learning that the only thing harder than being stuck together is being apart .
SYNOPSIS:
The Hook
Imagine The Defiant Ones meets Zootopia. Most "Odd Couple" movies use
dialogue to show conflict; we use physics. KAZU is a 600-pound Kudu—dignified, stoic, and
built like a tank . ZIPP is a 60-pound Antelope—high-strung, twitchy, and prone to "scouting
from a terrified distance" . When their horns clash and lock during a stampede, they become
a single, eight-legged disaster.
The Journey
They are forced to navigate the Great Migration in reverse . To survive, they have
to learn the "Sideways Shuffle"—a clumsy, hilarious coordination of legs that fails them at
every turn, from sinking in mud marshes to dodging an irritated Rhino . Along for the ride is
BONGO, a philosophical dung beetle pushing a "spherical queen" (a massive dung ball).
Bongo serves as the story’s soul, reframing their nightmare as a "sacred binding" of destiny.
The Pivot
(The Heart) The stakes shift from "How do we walk?" to "Who do we protect?"
when they find NILO, a lost wildebeest calf . For the first time, Kazu and Zipp stop bickering
about their necks and start acting like parents. But they aren't just trying to track the herd;
they are being hunted by THE PREDATOR— a massive, battle-scarred lion nearly double the
size of a king, recognizable by a notched ear and a milky-white blind eye.
The Climax
On Page 91, we give the audience what they think they want: The Snap. During a
final, brutal encounter with The Predator, their horns twist and break free. For the first time in
the movie, they are untethered. Zipp’s instinct is to run. Kazu’s instinct is to stand his ground
and die so the others can live.
But the "Heart" of this movie happens when Zipp stops running. He realizes that being "free"
is empty if it means losing his partner . He turns back, stands shoulder-to-shoulder with
Kazu, and proves that bravery isn't the absence of fear—it's the choice you make while
you're shaking.
