When an old woman curses a town for their awful behavior, disturbing occurrences begin claiming the lives of the townspeople. Now, a detective must avoid the curse and try to figure out how to reverse it before the entire town is consumed by swarms of the undead.
SYNOPSIS:
The literal embodiment of Karma travels the world, forcing people to be rewarded or pay for their kindness/unkindness in creative ways. She is compelled to visit Karnesville, a town of wholly unscrupulous people, but finds herself the target of teen bullies.
When their escapades make her the target of a very public humiliation, which goes viral on social media and the news, she curses them. Since she was gravely harmed by a swarm of bees, she threatens the town - each time they cause fatal harm to another living thing, that thing will return a thousandfold to claim them...
This seems like an idle threat initially, because after all, who goes around killing things?
But when a stray raccoon is cruelly put out of its misery by one of the teen bullies, a drug addled mother's neglect of her baby causes a tragic accident, or even when an unfaithful wife swats an errant mosquito, thousands of the things they killed swarm them to death. Once this starts to be a bizarre pattern, A detective begins to suspect that Karma's curse on the town has begun to claim the townsfolk.
After several more swarmings, each more brutal and confusing than the last, the detective begins to piece together a way to possibly end the madness before the entire town is claimed.
But when he turns out to be wrong in his assessment, an angry mob led by the mayor hunts Karma down and kills her, causing her to return thousandfold, with apocalyptic results for the town's residents.
