A scientist caught in a stray tachyon field during a lab accident has his brain from 30 years into the future quantum entangled with his current brain, which causes his future mind to re-enter his body every 30 years, and over an interminable existence in which suicide is not an option due to temporal factors (luck seems to intervene), he becomes jaded with life in general.  But when he meets a group of free-spirited, quirky friends who change his outlook, he becomes determined to break the entanglement before his mind reverts back and he loses them forever.
