SYNOPSIS:

Moonveil – A Town Twisted in Time

Genre: Supernatural Mystery / Sci-Fi Drama Format: 1-hour drama Creator: Paul Gustafson

In 2024, Rita Woodley, a 42-year-old neurodivergent janitor, is suddenly displaced in time stranded in the same town, Moonveil, but a century in the past. Quiet, observant, and emotionally guarded, she must learn to survive in a world that doesn’t recognize her, with no idea how or if she can return.

Set across two timelines—1924 and 2024—Moonveil follows Rita as she begins adjusting to her strange new life while investigating a phenomenon known only as the shimmer: a recurring, invisible ripple in energy that seems to respond to emotional states and natural patterns. With the help of Dr. Langford, an academic physicist specializing in atmospheric anomalies, Rita begins to suspect these pulses aren’t accidents they’re signals. Warnings. Or invitations.

In the present, Dr. Sarah Kim, a rising force in the STP Alliance, picks up an unexpected transmission: Rita’s voice, carried through time. With veteran physicist Seymor Graves and wave-theory wildcard Dr. Tarek Halim, Kim uncovers encrypted signals and unexplained data spikes leading her not to a single source, but to Veil Kinetics, a mercenary tech outfit fumbling for control of a force they don’t understand. Unlike STP, VK isn’t searching for truth. They’re betting on power.

As Rita begins to form bonds in 1924, she starts to feel an emotional pull she can’t fully explain. A strange boy on a bike named Billy appears flickering in and out of time, offering cryptic warnings. And Dr. Berquist, the first person she learns to trust in this unfamiliar past, soon becomes her anchor. But when Maggie, her new best friend, vanishes mid-sentence in a shimmer surge, Rita realizes the rules of time are not just bent they’re being rewritten.

Moonveil explores the quiet strength of outsiders, the fragility of perception, and the idea that something far older and far more intelligent than time itself may be waking up. And when the fold opens, it doesn’t just show us what’s ahead It decides what stays behind.
