YOU WILL GO FAR

YOU WILL GO FAR
By Wyman Brent

GENRE: Historical
LOGLINE:

Told from the perspective of Bonnie and Clyde’s death car, this animated/live-action short quietly follows a once-hopeful machine from the factory floor to a bullet-ridden end—and finally, to its resting place in a glass case of history.

SYNOPSIS:

You Will Go Far is a haunting, dialogue-sparse short film that chronicles the life of one car—the very one that carried Bonnie and Clyde to their violent end. From its first moments on the production line, where a factory worker pats its hood and declares, “You will go far,” the car bears silent witness to a chain of events no machine should endure.

The film moves from animation to live action as it journeys through time: sold to a young couple, stolen by outlaws, riddled with bullets, and finally displayed in a Nevada casino. Bonnie and Clyde are never truly seen. Neither are the lawmen who ambushed them. Instead, it is the car that remains central—an unwilling companion to history, violence, and memory.

With only a few spoken lines in the entire film and a sweeping original score, You Will Go Far explores legacy through the eyes of an object. It is a story of movement, myth, and stillness—of where we think we're going, and what waits for us instead.
