CAPTAIN ELBOW`S LAST BROADCAST

CAPTAIN ELBOW`S LAST BROADCAST
By Wyman Brent

GENRE: Biography
LOGLINE:

After hosting his final low-budget horror show, a forgotten TV host hits the road with a young fan to visit the real-life hometowns of legendary horror hosts—uncovering buried memories, unexpected friendship, and the haunting beauty of faded fame along the way.

SYNOPSIS:

Captain Elbow’s Last Broadcast is a live-action road movie about endings, legacies, and the strange places where connection still flickers. When Captain Elbow, an aging regional horror host with rubber props and a cult following, signs off for the last time, he doesn’t expect anyone to notice. But in a quiet bar that same night, he meets Teddy—a young man who not only remembers Elbow’s show, but reveres it.

What begins as a drink and a conversation becomes a journey. Together, they set off across America in Elbow’s dusty car, visiting the real hometowns and gravesites of long-forgotten horror show hosts who once ruled the airwaves. At each stop, they reflect on life, loss, showmanship, and the ways media shapes us—sometimes saving us in the process.

As the past and present blur, Captain Elbow’s Last Broadcast becomes more than a road trip. It’s a tribute to local legends, late-night weirdness, and the lingering impact of low-budget magic. At its core, it’s about two people—one nearing the end, the other just beginning—discovering that the real show is the one you live off-camera.
