By Matthew Ruth

GENRE: Family, Adventure
LOGLINE:

When his father falls into a coma after a car accident, an eight-year-old boy discovers he can visit his dad's mind through the planet Aster—a magical world only Henry can fully control—and must help him navigate back to reality before it's too late.

SYNOPSIS:

When Joseph Lerner is hit by a drunk driver while returning from ice skating with his eight-year-old son Henry, he falls into a deep coma. Henry, devastated and unable to process the tragedy, discovers something impossible: he can enter his father's subconscious through the imaginative world of Planet Aster—a fantastical realm he and Joe have been exploring together at bedtime for years.

Desperate to save his father's life, Henry begins drawing the landscapes and obstacles of Aster with meticulous detail, creating a physical map that Joe can navigate while trapped in his comatose state. But the planet is vast and unpredictable. As Joe and a growing group of other coma patients—including professional baseball player Jeremy Frank—journey through Aster's treacherous terrain, Henry races against time to guide them toward the hospital room where Joe's body lies, hoping to find the door that will bring his father back to the real world.

Caught between his mother's grief and the doctors' decision to remove Joe from life support, Henry learns that his imagination isn't just a childhood escape—it's a lifeline. With only hours left before the ventilator is turned off, Henry must complete his masterpiece of Aster and help his father find his way home, discovering that love and belief can exist in the space between dreams and reality.
