LOGLINE:

In 1978 a Monk takes a different path to join a revolution to liberate his own people.

SYNOPSIS:

St. Joseph school owned by the Dela Sale Christian Brothers is situated in the middle of Keren town. Me and Beyene were assigned to teach in the middle school. There were four missionaries, Pedro from spain, Maurice from France, Amilcare from Italy and Raymond from England teaching in high school. Me and Beyene were close buddies. Beyene six feet tall is a basketball player. All students call him by the name Padre the super star. Of his own peer he managed to lead a team of basketball, called by St. Joe. In June 30 1977 Keren town was liberated by the Eritrean Peoples Liberation Front. Few days after the liberation of the town an x-teacher by name Abadi who joined the front one year before appears at St. Joe. Beyene gets exited to meet Abadi. As they become close friends, Beyene gets convinced to join the front. Hiabu gets concerned about Beyete's decision to join the armed forces. Beyene enters into a dilema on how to handle his resignation of his promise to the congregation. Hiabu sets up against his proposal to leave the institute. The Abbot (the superior) also engages Beyene to keep his promise. At last Beyene decides to join the liberation front and leaves for the mountains. He writes on the blackboard " No matter how hard it will be, no matter what the future will be, the liberation of my people have taken precedence to my previouse promises to serve as a Monk. For the time being my rosary will be changed into AK 47 gun. After I liberate my people, hopefully I will nock the door of the monastery.
