SYNOPSIS:

Near-future L.A. Drones and self-driving cars whiz past tent cities, and global warming and capitalism have both left their mark on what used to be a vibrant city. Corporations have more power than the government.

In this dystopian future, A.I. now dominates the music and television industries. The only bastion of human creativity comes in the form of the one thing computers can't do: dream.

New technology, introduced by an enigmatic tech billionaire, allows us to not only capture dreams, but upload them into our own brains like a drug, creating the ultimate escape from reality. Those with dreams others want to watch become the new celebrities...They are called "dreamfluencers".

Against this backdrop, a burnt-out detective, Remi Martin, is tasked with investigating what should be an open and shut case, that of a prominent "dreamfluencer" who seemingly murdered his own wife. The only problem: he was asleep at the time. More mysterious, the dream captured that night wasn't his own.

Detective Martin finds some control over his own life by investigating this crime. It not only allows him to feel he still can make some small difference in this world, but it brings him to reconcile his own history of dream addiction, which cost him his marriage.

Two other dreamfluencer deaths create a pattern Remi Martin can't ignore. It brings him head to head with the billionaire tech guru, and uncovers a bigger plot that might threaten all of humanity. Will anyone care though?
